Speed Review: Champneys Citrus Blush Shower Gel

As a spa brand product, I was keen to try Champneys Citrus Blush Shower Gel as a way of injecting a little luxury into the everyday routine of showering.

The tube presentation is functional for use and I appreciated being able to tell how much product was remaining. I felt that I went through the 200ml tube quite quickly.

The inclusion of SLS meant that I was able to work the shower gel into a generous lather, however, the downside is that I found it to be quite drying on my skin.

This shower gel had originally appealed to me as I enjoy using energising shower gels, such as those based on citrus, in the mornings. The scent is unusual and more complex than I'd anticipated based on the name. Champneys Citrus Blush Shower Gel is described as having lemon, orange and cardamom fragrances. I found it different to other citrus shower gels I've tried previously and was disappointed to note that it was less revitalising and uplifting, although this is purely down to my personal preference. The cardamom adds a subtle spiciness and warmth to the shower gel. I noticed that the scent lingered slightly on my skin after my shower.

At £6 for 200ml, this is a pricier option than the average shower gel but I didn't feel that it offered anything special. It was fine but for the price I couldn't justify a repurchase.
