I'm really enjoying the recently re-vamped aromatherapy range from The Sanctuary and have already featured the Unwind Bath Soak, also from the Relax line (click here to read the review). Today's review is of the accompanying body butter, a.k.a. the Relax Cocooning Body Butter.
As tends to be the case with body butters, The Sanctuary Relax Cocooning Body Butter is presented in a plastic tub.
I have to admit that I tend not to like a lot of body butters as I dislike the greasy residue that many leave on the skin, however, I really liked The Sanctuary Relax Cocooning Body Butter. I'd describe the texture as a rich cream rather than having the butter or balm texture that is common to body butters. I was impressed at how easily it was absorbed into my skin. I loved that it didn't leave a greasy residue. Upon initial application, there was a velvet finish which is most likely thanks to the inclusion of dimethicone as an ingredient. After a short while, I could detect absolutely no residue on the skin.
I fell in love with the incredible scent, which is luxurious and reminiscent of higher end brands. The Sanctuary Relax Cocooning Body Butter contains a blend of essential oils including Vetivert to help calm the mind, Cedarwood which helps to promote a sense of clarity and Labdanum which helps to promote gentle relaxation. The blend makes for a scent which is sensual, warm & comforting. It's ideal for winter use. I was delighted that the scent lingered on my skin for hours after I'd applied the cream.
I can only reiterate how impressed I've been with The Sanctuary's aromatherapy range and the Relax Cocooning Body Butter is no exception. At £9.50 for 200ml, it offers an affordable way to indulge at home and I'd highly recommend checking it out.
