One of the products I picked up was the Essence Mono Eyeshadow in shade 18, All I Need. It's described as a super-soft & long-lasting eyeshadow and I'd agree with these claims.
The clear acrylic compact packaging means it's easy to find the desired colour in a crowded makeup bag and whilst it's obviously a drugstore brand, I didn't think that the packaging looked or felt very cheap.
The impressively pigmented formula applied smoothly, without fall out & was easy to blend.
The colour is very interesting and I find it works well for creating a single shadow, soft smokey eye which is ideal for every day use & work appropriate. I love pairing it with a flick of black liquid liner for a quick yet polished look.
In the pan it appears taupe but once on the eyelid, it has more dimension. On the lid, it appears as a flattering, muted silver taupe whereas in the depth of the crease, it appears more brown toned. It has a shimmering, soft metallic finish.
It's hard to believe that Essence Mono Eyeshadow costs just £1.60 for 1.8g (as a point of comparison, MAC eyeshadows are 1.5g). I've really been enjoying this eyeshadow and can't recommend it highly enough.
